Job Description: The Carpenter will possess competency in the following areas to perform his/her role in a productive and safely manner:
  • The ability to perform duties of carpentry without supervision.
  • The ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Reads blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Places wall footings, grade beams and footing steps.
  • Builds and Installs wall and column forms and elevated decks.
  • Builds and installs structural deck forms.
  • Understands various types of wall form systems and wall ties.
  • Strips vertical form work.
  • Prepare and sets tilt up/precast forms.
  • Works with building layout.
  • Assemble scaffold systems and other form systems associated within work.
  • Field cut and assemble lumber and materials as needed for footings, walls, columns, bulkheads, slab edge, curb and gutter, etc.
  • Utilize laser and other tools to ensure lay out and elevations are accurate.
  • Have a working knowledge of power tools and ability to use and maintain them safely.
Job Requirements: The Carpenter will possess the knowledge, skill and/or ability in the following areas essential to perform the functions of the position. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent; minimum of five year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess Valid ID
  • Ability to write routine correspondence, and communicate with co-workers
  • Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure and apply associated math skills.
  • Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
  • Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
  • Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions and dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, sometime early, late, and weekend as needed.
  • Supply their own personal hand tools (required list provided at interview).
  • OSHA 10 trained
  • Documented training in PPE, fall prevention/protection, scaffolding, excavation, small power tools ladders.
  • Rigger/Signal Person cert card preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
